I have a 2007 328i with standard radio. My issue is no sound. I can confirm the following:
At the plug on the amp:
I have confirmed input from the radio head with an external speaker on the following pins per drawing: 8-9,16-17,29-30,37-38. i have sound and can turn up and down the volume (external speaker).
I have 12 volts at pin 5, and have a good ground at pin 26.
I have used an external amp to power an play all of the speakers>: pins 3-4,11-12,13-21,22-23,31-32,33-34. All of the speakers produce good sound (Using external source).
I have swapped the amp with one from used car no help. So bottom line I have input to the amp, I have 12 volts with good ground with no output. Maybe some circuit to kill the sound??? I dont know what pin 10 on the amp is for, it goes to the diversity antenna. Does this sound like a coding issue?
Help please>>>>
The amp needs a 12VDC turn on signal from the head unit in order to operate.
Ok thanks for responding. Is that pin 10 coming from the diversity antenna circuit?
Check www.newtis.info
You were correct on the turn on signal. I DO NOT have 12 volts out from the turn on signal. Do you think this is a radio head issue or could it be coding??? I jumper pin 5 and 10 at the amp and got sound.
The grad unit supplies the turn on signal. You need to find out which pin/wire provides the signal. I’m not familiar with the E90 wiring diagrams. Check the E90 section.
