    Random Radiator Question

Looks like I'll have to replace my radiator one of this days... Also, in the back of my mind are the condenser and aux fan rubber mounts, but I was dreading that job (you know, remove bumper and stuff, 30 year old plastic... )

My question is, anyone knows if you can remove the condenser from behind when the radiator is not in place? Or do I HAVE TO remove the front bumper???

    Thanks

Just take the front off, you will need to do it eventually to fix something so why not now?

Well, I was thinking since the radiator is gonna be out, anyways.

IIRC, I replaced the condenser from the engine side.

The bumper is really no big deal to remove. The bumper strips are relatively flexible plastic. Pop those off and you've got 4x 17mm nuts, 2x foglight connectors (which might be brittle but not hard to repair), and 2x plastic screw-like devices that are also relatively sturdy. Then it slides right off.

Thanks for the replies. Since I'm waiting for the parts, I bit the bullet and removed the bumper with no casualties! (one of the sliders was cracked, but still works and it's hidden).

I don't know how my aux fan was still working ok with all the debris that was jammed behind it, and also, I discovered the condenser didn't even have lower supports, it was just hanging from the upper screws! Doesn't seem like they rotted away (they'd just get stiff and flat, I guess), but the people that installed the condenser were just like "meh"...
