Hello guys,
I have an issue with my bmw. My bmw e46 run 3l 150kw diesel engine. The black smoke is appearing while accelerating. The interesting thing that then there is cold outside temperature, there is not so much of black smoke and when the temperature is higher outside, the clouds of black smoke are much bigger.
Also, I have some faults from the diagnostic scan. Fault codes:
43F2; electric auxilary heater
4501; exhaust - gas recirculation
3FF1; air - mass flow sensor
Thank you for any help!
Welcome to the Forum!
When was the last time you replaced the air filter? That is the most common issue when you see black smoke from a diesel.
The first code is odd, as the E-46 doesn't have an aux pump for the heater like the E-38/39's do, so not sure about it. Now it does have a heater valve, so it is possible that it's bad.
The 2nd and 3rd code can be related to a charge/boost pipe being bad/loose, so have a look at the intake plumbing.

Thank you for the greetings. Seems that fault number 43F2 have appeared of the reason that I disconnected wiring with electric heater.
Secondly, the air filter was changed 2500 kilometers ago.
About two seconds faults, do you mean the intercooler boost pipe?
Yes, follow the airbox to the intake manifold, for there maybe a problem in the tubing.
Next will be to see why you are getting too much fuel into the cylinders, as this can be caused by a vacuum leak in the tubing above.

No problem, thank-you for coming back to close out the thread. Others will do a search, find this thread and hopefully help them as well.
Happy motoring!
P.S. How's the rear wiper? I have a DIY on sticky/slow hatch wipers.

Over time, dirt gets past the seal, causing it to grind to a halt. Or it will get really slow over time, pop the glass, and move it by hand. If you feel a lot of resistance, it is time to clean it before it stats to seize.
