Option 2. Send it to TX $500
Option 3. Buy U-Joint and Cut Grooves for Retaining Clips, Not enough Room See Pictures
Option 4. Buy U-Joint and use Hydraulic Press and Correct Staking tool $$$
Option 5. Buy U-Joint have 86 YO machinist Dad make me washers and have Vlad the Welder TIG them in.
U-Joint PN is GMB 220-7284, bought it on Amazon
These are a pain to get out, Dremel with a grinding wheel to take out the stakes. Had to buy the C Clamp big tool to press the bearing caps out. One of the bearing caps was so hammered I could dig it out with a screwdriver. Other two I could not grab onto so I just broke out the disc grinder and cut it apart and pounded out the remains.
You have to clean up the insides of the driveshaft really well with the Dremel and the grinding wheel. Made the mistake of pressing the Bearing Cap in when it was to tight and had to buy a new U-Joint.
Dad made me washers, some people use quarters, Squared everything up and had Vlad TIG them in. You don't need much.
Cleaned up the shaft, Paint, good as new

Very good! Nothing is easy. Did your father make a handful of washers for the rest of us, lol? How much end-play do you need, maybe a few thousandths?
Got mine from Texas driveline specialist also for my M5. Beats being out of balance when your done doing it your self.
