New stereo in NJ area for '04 330ci?

Hi all, I'm still driving my low mileage '04 330ci convertible and looking to replace the Harman Kardon stereo unit with something more modern. Speakers are fine but unit (radio/CD player) is decrepit. Anyone know a shop in NJ or NY that could install a compatible unit maybe with Bluetooth and sat radio capability? Not the dealer? thanks

Does the car have the factory navigation?

No, no navigation. Did they even offer it in '04?

Check in with your local BMW independent shops for recommendations where to take the car

Check with Crutchfield. They'll probably have a plug 'n play unit that will replace your head unit plus a crutch (pun not intended) adapter cable to go from the new head unit to your chassis plug(s).

Yup. There are many replacement headunits available for the car. Swapping the head unit with a new unit is straight forward if you’ve got the adapter cable(s). Go to www.crutchfield.com to see what’s available. I recommend brands such as Alpine, Pioneer and Kenwood. You can buy a quality head unit with most of the bells and whistles for under $200.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. Armed with the info I got from crutchfield, I found a local audio joint in Neptune NJ, Auto Audio. They've been there since '67, and are knowledgable and competitively priced, carrying the good brands, Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer. If you're in Jersey and need to upgrade audio you should consider these guys.

New to the e46 forum, just bought a 01 330CiC, but I had 2 e36 verts and currently have a e38. Specifically chose a non-nav so I could replace the radio easily, which I did last weekend. Anyway, Crutchfield (as noted) will sell you everything you need to replace it. It's a tight fit with the line-level converter, but I put mine just above the radio with the factory plug in the space to the left of the radio. I chose a Alpine UTE-62BTE, as I don't need a cd player, but I did need the ability to hook up my Sirius radio adapter, as well as Bluetooth and iPod compatibility.
