Will changing the pentosing filter make a difference?

I have been having this situation that when I brake on a turn my steering pump hesitates.
I have been wondering if it would be connected with the pentosin filter in the canister or if there is another reason.

Could be, the system needs enough presure. Not likely btw unless really old oil and filters (in doubt, replace all.....drain from bottom of the car and back if you have 4 wheel steering). In total 2 or 3 filters. A clean system with new oil and filters will perform better.

Here's where it is and how to change it on an 840ci - it is the same as used on some 850ci's:

Timm. In your writeup I see only one filter. Are there any other ones?

850 (eu) has a brass filter housing in front (a metal filter you can clean). Under the car frontside of the engine.

Ok. Sounds perfect. Timm, the filter is the same on all models, right?

    I couldn't say for certain - I've only done the 840ci!
