    Question 2013 X5 E70 wheel size question

I just got my Black Sapphire X5 xDrive35i last summer, and put winter tires on the factory 19" rims just a few months ago. I'm looking to buy a new set of rims and tires for the rest of the year, and came across a GREAT deal on some used 20" x 8.5" Niche Targa M130's, and I'm a lil concerned how it would look/ride/perform going from a 255/50/r19 to a 255/35/R20, since it seems TireRack suggests 20x9.5 or 20x10 with a 275/40/R20 tire. The tread width between my current 19"s and the 20"s I'm looking at is the same and the profile is about 1.5" shorter. I know it's going to show a bit more wheel well with these lower profile tires, so I'm wondering if anyone here has done this already, or seen a photo of it, etc. Google hasn't really gotten me any definitive pics to show the exact configuration I'm describing.

Anyone already do this? Any advice on why this is a good or bad idea?

    TIA

    I love turbos!
Not apples to apples, but here is a pic of my E53 on stock 17s, then with the 19s off my F10 535i. That would probably be a similar difference in tire height. My X5 does have a slight drop due to the Eibach Pro-kit. For shits and giggles, the last is my X5 with style 467s. With my F10 535i 19s on the X5, turn in was much crisper and handling was much improved. However, I was worried about the load rating on my F10 tires vs what should be on a 5000 lb X5.

Aight, that's not too bad at all - I think putting 20"s on all around, even with a profile height of 35%, shouldnt' be TOO bad. Worst case scenario, it looks a lil bad until I burn off the existing rubber and put 45%'s on the rims.

    THanks Beastmaster!!

Whatever you do, the rolling circumference of the front and rears must be the same or you will damage your transfer case. That's if you have staggered wheels.

I re-read your post, and it looks like you will have the same size wheels/tires front and rear? If that's the case, you won't have any issues.
