Hey guys! I知 very new to the forum. So I have a 2008 BMW 550i bought less than a month ago. The issue I知 having is I致e noticed it seems to turn over sort of slow. Very rarely, I値l have to press the start/stop button twice before it値l fire up. Yesterday, as I was idling waiting for the funeral procession to start, I had my headlights and turn signals on. The first thing I noticed is that the RPM痴 seemed lower than normal. It was hovering around 500 rpms. Then I received a warning about my braking system, which went away when I removed my foot off the brake, and came back when I applied pressure. I then turned the car off in an attempt to fix that, and the car would not start. After getting a jump from a bystander, which took 15 minutes because the battery wasn稚 getting enough power for some reason, it turned over. I drove an hour home with no real issues. I let the car sit and started it today and it started up quickly. I知 wondering what was the issue?
How old is the battery with all the electronics in the cars the battery's need to be in tip top shape
About a year old. Produced 04/18.
and the battery was registered when installed
As far as what I知 told from the previous owner yeah
From what it sounds like, it can only be one of two issues. Starter or battery. But I did just notice you live in Deleware. It's very possible the ground cable from the engine to the body is just about rusted through, which will not allow enough current to pass for the starter to operate properly.
