Loved the picture album. A question though, why are you using the outdated crank sensor position instead of the updated crank sensor and sub harness

Not sure I know what you're talking about! Mind filling me in? I didn't know there was an updated sensor. I just pulled the one off my M50
EDIT: Unless you mean the OBD2 version that mounts at the rear? I actually have that sensor in place, not plugged into anything. Just using it to fill the hole. Any advantage to using that?

Are you sure you have it plugged? I don't see it in your pics and would not expect a bored out s50 block to have the hole in the block anyway. If you are every interested in using OBDII engine management, you can get a euro m52 CPS which mounts on the timing cover but works with the m52/s52 OBDII dme's.

Michael! I finally found you on the forums!
Dyno results. No AFRs unfortunately. Open to ideas on what the dip around 5600 rpm is. If that line stayed straight and didn't drop, it'd be well over 250whp!

Could be a coincidence, but I think the vanos advance turns to retard at around that rpm. A fairly stock S52 makes peak power around 6100 so something is wrong.
Good info, thanks guys. Possibly a bad VANOS install, not getting proper movement? Seems it must be timing related. I've heard rumors that some Schrick cams came misaligned to the timing block from factory. Time to buy a dial indicator!

The schricks that had improperly cast ends (timing block ends) date to about 2003. I have bought 2 sets since, one in 2006 and one in 2017, that were properly cast. Both times using stock blocks.
