Hi everyone. Bill at Headliner Express just got in a new shipment of OEM quality and thickness black headliner material. He and another person actually went to the original mill that made the material in Europe, and had some new material remade, so it took a while. It took over a year for the entire process. As we all know, the OEM thickness material is impossible to find. The shipment came in in February. He just did my headliner in the CSi, and it looks excellent.

Is that the fuzzy velour type?
I think he means the 'Anthracite' velour material - is that correct Roger?
Good news if that's the case.

best is always to ask for samples to compare structure+color with the existing headliner material + structure. Because there are many nuances in black available, I once got 5 samples from a headliner shop in Germany, all called black.... "shades of black"

I don't know what you call it - fuzzy or what. But it is just like the OEM black in the CSi, which should be just like the black OEM in the other 8's (maybe I should say the best looking 8's - the E31 ). But, what Shogun says is correct. Due to dye lots, etc, if not replacing all of the covering it would be best to check a sample.

It damned well better be exactly OEM for, get this... $140 a yard.
The original CSi anthracite velour headliner fabric can be removed, laundered (with no shrinkage) and reattached. Proof of the success of using this process lies in my own car, which has a roof lining that looks better than new.
Nice. Do they have other colors, or black only?

Had the Anthracite (Black) headliner material from Bill at Headliner Express installed in 2010.
Really nice material. Not a nap or fuzzy.
Some photos a bit down on this post that Rodger started.

Global Upholstery Supply still lists the BM 134 material.

I picked up the last piece this weekend. Bill does a great job of covering, and the material looks as OEM as possible. I have a small piece of OEM left over and compared the two. Texture and weave look as close as possible when having the 2 side-by-side.
