Do I need to replace camshaft position sensor bank 1 , some said replace both ,how many are there, and location
Some people for dx purposes would swap the sensors to see if the fault came back to the original location or did it move to the new position indicating the sensor is bad
I've never replaced a single cam position sensor on any N5x engine. It has always been the VANOS solenoid.
Just my two cents. Proceed however you like. P0012 doesn't mean anything to me. You really need BMW specific codes with a description.

It’s about timing and camshaft bank1
You've been given advice on how to proceed. The next step is up to you.

Just replaced front struts and mount, lower control arms in my x5 xdrive30i e70. That knocking noise is still there everytime I hit a bump but it lessens a bit. What could it be now?
