    Flash 525i ECU To 530i

Hi, I am fairly new to the forums as far as posting, and I have searched this topic but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I recently swapped my 2004 2.5 engine for a 3.0, I am looking for a step by step DIY or someone who can remotely flash my DME to 3.0 map. I've never done this before, I have INPA, I've used it for diagnosing, resetting adaptations, dynamic drive calibration and stuff like that but I've never programmed, flashed or coded? I've only coded using Carly. Please, if someone could help me or point me to a detailed DIY that would be great. Thank you

User balidawg can probably help you out, try to get a hold of him. Tell him the appropriate ZB# for your car would be 7561944 if manual or smg, and 7561946 if automatic.

Thank you, I'll try to get him. It's an automatic, I forgot to add that in my post. Where/how would I have found that ZB# number?

For the E60 (and that generation BMW in general) it's a little annoying. You have to open the KMM_ATSH file. Scroll down to [12] (12 is the hex address for the DME), and then look for NA73 (which is the M54 530i). By each NA73 entry you'll see option codes. 205 is automatic transmission, 206 is smg. If there's a - symbol before the code, that means those entries are for a car without that option code. So -205;-206 is manual, 205;-206 is automatic, etc.

Since your car is an automatic, it might also be worth flashing the transmission to 530i specs. The appropriate ZB# for that is 7552680

Yea, I definitely need help with this. Thanks for the info. I hope I can get both of these done. If you or any one else that reads this knows any one in North NJ that's fluent in programming/flashing that would be great also

Here’s my DME update thread on e46fanatics.
    https://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1081716
Read post #1 which lists what you’ll need and has some useful links and info.

As I mentioned via PM, we should update your DME after the 530 engine is installed and verified it’s running fine on the current 525 DME software. In the meantime we can get everything installed and configured on your Windows laptop.

Since you already have BMW Standard Tools set up, go ahead and import the E60 daten files into WinKFP, as detailed in this document.
    https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...1&d=1337480801
If you don’t have the E60 daten files, let me know and I’ll put them up on Google Drive for you.

We can validate your software set up any time without connecting to the car. I’m off work all week so just let me know when you have time.

Hello, I'm searching to update my ECU from 523i to 525i ( 218 hp) manual transmision. The engine was completly changed but I can't find the right ZB number. I did a lot of reserch but I can't find it. I looked in KMM_ATSH but N52 is missing from there.

Could some one explain me how I can find it?

Really apreciate in advance. Thank you!

Hi balidawg, I have an e60 2008 EU specs 523i n52 black cover,
I've just swapped the engine from b25 to b30, the car worked perfectly but still on the same old DME map, if I reflash it using winkfp using 530i dme daten file would it work!?

Please pm me as it seems I cannot pm you😊
