No I haven't, thanks D.
Also, I decided to drive the car some. Previously there was 4 codes, all in the EGS. There are SO many now. I will make a list and post it later.
Thanks again.
I wrote down the codes, but not the descriptions. DME - EA, 8F, E1, EB, E4, A8, E3, CB, CA, F2, F3 EWS - 2F, 0F LEW - 1 SPMFT mirror memory, driver - 4, B SZM - 4, 5, 6 IHKA - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
KOM - 11, BE, 87 LSZ - 22, 3F, 41 RLS - 80 ZKE - 7, 2A, 33, 3D, 30, 85
I didn't list the EGS codes already discussed in this thread. I also didnt list MRS codes as they are all related to my seats not being wired.
Well you do have a seat memory code, so that tells me there is no communication happening. I would check to see if there was a break in years, for sometime BMW will move wires around a connector at facelift time.

After I grab the seat connectors with as much wire as I can, Ill get them hooked up. then see if any seat related codes remain. I have to go through the list and see what I need to fix them. I'm most interested in whats wrong with the engine. but I'll get there sooner or later.
Well, you need to put words with those DME codes, as I don't carry around in my pocket the code sheets.

sorry about that D, I was tryin g to hurry and write the codes down before I had to leave. I'll go through the list today and write out descriptions and repost later on.
These are the DME codes.
EA - 234 catalytic converter overall efficiency bank 2
8F - 143 tank ventilation or tank leakage
E1 - 225 car efficiency bank 1
EB - 235 lambda heater bank 1 past cat or pre cat signal
E4 - 228 mixture deviation bank 2
A8 - 168 pedal position sensor pot 1 or MAP coming thermostat jammed
E3 - 227 mixture deviation bank 1
CB - 203 lambda regulation bank 2 post cat
CA - 202 lambda regulation bank 1 post cat
F2 - 242 misfire cylinder 5
F3 - 243 misfire cylinder 6
Yeah a whole can of worms there chap!
So lets start with the most obvious to me. Oxygen sensors, as you have several, are they original?
Tank vent, open the gas cap and inspect the flat gasket. It should be smooth, and free of any cracks.
Mixture deviation can mean a vacuum leak
Misfires could be anything from spark-plugs to coils or faulty injectors. Let look at the coils and plugs first.
Lastly, I am sure you cleared all the codes, and there are the ones that like to come back after a 10-20 minute drive?

When I originally checked codes I only got the EGS codes. I had driven the car a little over a few days. And then when I checked again it had all these. I would assume the parts on it are original.
The recommend replacement interval is 120k miles on the oxygen sensors, so if you are past that, it would be due.

I'm starting to wonder if I can find an engine and manual trans to swap in for a decent price...and what a decent price is. Local shop is $100 for a smoke test. I wonder if there's a head/HG problem.
I don't think so, as these cars are pretty solid if you don't overheat them, and do the routine maintenance.
There are smoke machines on ebay for about that cost, so if you ever have to do it a second time, it has paid for itself.

I honestly don't know if it was ever overheated. I assume if it was maintained, that it was following guidelines. But the engine doesn't seem terrible. I just want to get it running nice and 5 speed swap it. Switching between the cars made me decide that I want a standard, even if it sometimes makes my leg hurt. I hate autos, never drove a newer auto.
Without Chris around, I'm looking at what you say, d. You're the only other Ive seen as much on here. Any recommendations for a smoke machine from Amazon? The smoke in this video bothers me.
