How to update ConnectedDrive Navigation System (not the maps)

I have a 2014 F30 320d M Sport.

I recently had an issue with the ConnectedDrive where it reset randomly and wiped all of the settings and profiles.

My dealer has looked at it and expressed the view its not a fault with the unit. They updated the software and re-setup my profile. Everything now appears to be working except since the reset my navigation system appears to have reverted to an older version of the software. It appears as a map and there is not first person view that you would expect in a modern sat nav. Is this something I can update or will I have to take it into my dealer?

The viewpoint of the map is just a setting in options. They will not roll back a map version. It's a lot of data to transfer, with no goal at all.
