Yes it is. If you look at the picture of the turbine inlet you’ll see I originally had the flange straight. After test fitting I realized the headlight didn’t fit. Those things take up precious real estate. And in the picture above the hid ballets and socket are removed. There is opportunity to move it closer to the ac and probably eliminate that problem but I don’t really care at this point.

Hi, looks like I'll be going down the same road as you with a T56 magnum, wondering which length Sikky shifter you picked. I assume from your thread it would be the 7" one, but thought I'd check? Their thread shows 4", 7", or 9". Thanks, Paul

I didn't measure and ordered the 4" one, you definitely need the 7" mine is off and I had to order a bent sifter to compensate. Didn't want to go through the hassle of pulling everything and reordering. And I'm using the Josh's (Jesus Freaks) mounts.

Only thing I'm not sure of with the 7" is whether you need to cut to clearance for the linkage. I think you'll be fine, if anything you'll need to maybe cut the sound deadening underneath away a little. I obviously had to cut a giant rectangle hole because mine is off.

Lots of small progress tidying things up here and there. Turbo system is done up to the exhaust portion. I should have the engine temporarily wired well enough for a test fire then I’ll have to finalize the wiring. I should have some better updates over the next several weeks.

I used mild steel and a mig. It was my first time welding. It was a lot easier then I thought. Are my welds the best looking, no but I can fix or redo anything as needed.

I may get them coated or spray them myself with high temp paint later but really not worried about it.

Getting to the point where I’m wrapping up small stuff. I tried to get some good pictures of the pedals for future swaps. I used a 48” lokar cable. It fits without mods onto the stock dbc Bmw pedal. I had to buy a used pedal assembly that was dbc since mine was dbw. There is a preexisting hole, you can see the cable if you follow the throttle pedal up. I forgot to take a picture on the engine side but it comes out right by the wiper motor above the brake booster.

    Other picture is shifter location.

Aw that's good to freaking hear man about the pedal, this is plug and play, awesome! Can you post a picture of the cable going to the throttle body and kinda the path it runs from where it comes into the engine bay(i know the spot you are talking about). I was going to get this bracket, IDK if its kinda what you used.

I used a lokar bracket they make. For what it is, it’s a rip off. But I would rather get something that works rather then fight it.

I have some stuff being stored on top of the engine right now but should be able to get some better pictures this week. I’ll try to get on of the attachment on the pedal too.

The last one was followed by a loud “fuck”. I forgot to pull the cable out before cutting. More coffee needed this morning. Should be able to fire her up this morning though.

Don’t hate on my China axles. Everything comes from there anyway.

A axle is a axle. Is that a 540 diff? And how come u cut out the passenger fender area, I'd assume turbo fitment. Where would the down-pipe be routed.

The axles were like 120 bucks for two. So cheap.

The cut out was for the filter on the turbo. Not sure how I want to play this one yet. The turbo only sticks in the wheel well a couple inches. I will either leave it like this and create a panel to close it off or do a 90 and have the filter below the headlight. Not sure yet but I will run it like this until I decide.

A 90 sounds good, and good to see the turbo!

Got the 540 did and axles in.

Got the car started but it won’t stay running. My tuner should have deleted my emissions and those are still all on. Pretty sure he did not do vats...

DANG, you are that close and comes down to something that should have been doubled checked by some one else. Glad it's a easy problem to diagnose with the scanner. Are u going to send it back out to the tuner?

Hit “Write Entire” or something to that effect in HPTuners. There’s a pop up box with a drop down list that lets you choose what parts of the file get pushed into PCM.

Just waiting on the ECU from the tuner...

Rear end and axles in. Used six speed driveshaft on the way. Got the weld in joints for the driveshaft.

    Getting close!!!

I like how the hot side piping is all in one bundle on the passenger side. Looks really freaking nice. What all did u have to get for the rear end. 540 diff and axles? Did it bolt right up to the rear sub-frame. And the 540 driveshaft, along with the wheel bearings?

The dif swap was more then I originally thought it would be.

The driveshafts and axles between the I6 and V8 are different. The wheel bearings are the same. So all you need is 540i axles, driveshaft and dif.

Another word of caution. The output flanges for the axles between a manual and automatic on the 540i are different. Just make sure you pay attention when you are ordering axles. I went auto because it is 3.15 gearing which later on I’ll swap in 3.46.

I got everything used for about 550 through eBay and having yards ship me parts.

Thank you for that info. I will go the exact same route as you. As i will be launching my car against my friends e46 M3 and don't want to shatter my 528i small diff and embarrass my self(not that, that would ever happen). And while it's out of the car i can refresh it just for peace of mind.
