3.0d xdrive my car leak oil from oil filtre housing i went to a car service and they recommend me to change the all filtre oil housing not the gasket...beacause if they change only the gasket after will leak even more oil its that true? what is the correct solution?
The correct repair is to remove the housing, replace the gaskets, and reinstall the housing. Then clean up any leaked oil. There is absolutely no need to replace the complete housing.

What is it with BMW and oil filter housing gaskets? Seems that regardless of the motor, the gaskets on these housing tend to leak after a while...

And the valve cover gaskets, and the oil pan gaskets. It's just a feature of BMW's.

"Feature" LOL. You make it sound like a free option ....

Replaced my filter housing gaskets a couple weeks ago. Seems to have fixed the leak. I had two BMW shops note the leak when I had the car in for other service, neither one quoted changing the actual housing.
As an aside, the housings leaked on both our X6 and our ML350 BT within 6 months of each other

Can someone confirm on an oil filter housing gasket leak, do I need both gaskets or just one of number 4 or 5?
TIA!
