435i xdrive convertible Auto to Manaul swap feasible?

BMW did not offer a 435 with a convertible and a manual and xdrive. if it did then i think unicorns would exist too. I want to buy a 435 but am torn between getting a manual coupe and an auto convertible. xdrive is a must. by the grace of god, with enough stress and money, is an auto to manual swap feasible on a vert? i know it would cost about 50% of the car. but it would also make it an irreplaceable one of a kind in itself. how hard would it be to swap?

my only glimmer of hope lies in the fact that a lot of the parts would be, dare i say, "plug and play" from the coupes with xdrive and 6M, but where would the troubles start?(i know there will be so many), transfer case? drive shaft / rear axle? obviously the cpu is going to need to be overhauled, clutch pedal installed. but how much of that could i pay someone absurd amounts of money to do?

Yes, it's possible, and the best way would be to find a wrecked F30 335xi manual and swap the parts.

Transfer case is the same, whether auto or manual.. it would be just a matter of swapping all the mechanical parts over, and then some programming to the rest of the car.
If you have to pay someone to do it, it will cost quite a bit. Not sure how mechanically inclined you are, but having a good grasp of everything is a must.

Many years ago, I changed a 1959 Jaguar sedan from auto to manual transmission after spotting a wrecked one at a junkyard. Turned out to be a relatively easy job since the body of the car was built to accept either type of transmission. There was an empty hinge space for a clutch pedal already there.

By the way, the ZF 8HP is easily one of the best automatic transmissions around. As much fun as a manual would be, the 8HP is actually worthwhile.


Also there are some slight wiring retrofits you would have to do. To be able to do this swap, you'd have to be an expert at it.

I don't think it would be that hard, and it would be totally worth doing. You could not put a price on a one-of-a-kind auto like that! Please be sure to post pics!
