E23 steering wheels/columns ALL coarse thread??

All E23s use the Momo 0157 hub which is a coarse spline hub, different from the 2005 coarse spline hub used on the E28 until 9/85. The later E28 hub was the 2006. The E24 used the 0157 early, 2005 mid-production and 2006 late production. All E30s, according to the application chart use the 2006 hub.

Differences in the 2005 and 0157 hubs would be what is needed to make two steering wheels mount in the same position based on the differences shown for an E28 early and E23 steering wheel. Big difference in depth.

Does this mean a coarse spline e23 steering wheel will not fit on any other bmw?

Great photo. So I’m guessing Momo 0157 won’t work for me.

I’m looking for E21 options and I like some e23 and e24 wheels. Just really don’t like the stock e21 wheel at all.

The E21 uses an 0157 as do the early E24, 2800/Bavaria, E23 and E12. All those wheels should work fine on a 21
