So I recently acquired a 2001 740 MSport and I've been doing all the research to try and upgrade the built in electronics. So far I've installed a MKIV nav computer.
I have the bluetooth TCU ready to install and I'm looking at adding the TV module so I can have an integrated backup camera. Here's my question. From pictures I've found the TV module mounts left of the CD player.
My car has the updated TCU in that location. I also doesn't have the blue and white connector pair that plugs into the TV module anywhere nearby. Is it somewhere else?
I don't know if this is related but after installing the MKIV nav unit Television is now active in the main menu. If I select it I get a blank screen. Does this just mean the MKIV is coded with TV enabled?

It's been up and down a few times and still shows the TV option.
I believe with the Navcoder app you can add or delete the option. I know you can delete the " do not use while driving warning " and may other things with it http://www.navcoder.com
Maybe this will show You what to do. https://store.bimmernav.com/blogs/in...ision-retrofit
Looking at bimmernav it looks like they do it with an extra harness, but they don't appear to sell it.
Here is the oem television harness number 61120144096. if that helps
That looks like it, thanks. Kind of pricey but I've only found one source so far.
After 2 MK3"s and 2 MK4's a new monitor screen I gave up and ripped it all out, no DSP anymore just have a Pioneer system ( single din ) I did finally get my steering wheel controls back it has bluetooth, and other things. Subwoofer and all the speakers new and the amp sits where the CD player was .......
It is hard to justify how much money , and or how much work everything is to try to keep the stock DSP and not rip all the interior out to go android or Pioneer route.
BM53 radio and Tv module needed to go Raspberry pie route in trunk and lots of studying to do..
I am working on stock Bluetooth at the moment which seems ludicrous as it won't even stream when I'm done but it's a madness that must be seen through to the end lol.
I agree, but it's a challenge and I don't really care how far I get. I've got some hack ideas to try as well. Too bad the info is scattered all over the place.
