I am second owner of a 1995 325 convertible. I have been using the top routinely over the past 10 months of ownership with NO problems. The other day the top stopped half way up. Used the release to get it closed, but cannot find the problem. Saw several posts (including a picture) about a fuse in the trunk near the battery, but there is no fuse in my car in that location. I have taken off all shrouds in attempt to find with no success. There are three fuses in box under the hood (#7, #35, and #43) all have tested OK. Have tried another switch in the dash , again with no success. Can the trunk fuse be located elsewhere? Have followed positive cable up thru the back of the back seat and checked near the top motor. It seems that is probably the problem, but where is it? How do you test the control module? Could that be the problem? Any input is appreciated.
You have to run the re synchronization process. Search and you will find.
Have you checked the micro switches?
No, but doubt that it is a micro-switch since it stopped mid way in the closing cycle. There is no power going through the top switch or to the motors. Have torn the trunk apart looking for the 25 amp fuse that has been referred to, but I don't believe there is one. Or it is located somewhere else. Could the control module have failed in mid cycle?
