I recently bought it a 01 525i and the rear doors do not open from the inside or out I recently had an electrical problem with the fuseable link box under the passenger floor carpet but fixed the issue any relation? Also previous owner took of the door panels in search of curing the problem any thoughts?
The first thing to do is to lock the doors. Then unlock the driver's door with the key in the lock, and hold the key in the FULL unlock position for 2 seconds. (This is unlikely to work, but it's wise to try.)
Second thing will be to connect the car to a good BMW specific diagnostic computer, and check the codes in the ZKE / GM, and try to command the rear locks to open with the diag computer.
With the rear door panels and vapor barriers off, it should be fairly simple to open the doors. IF the ZKE / GM is showing bunches of codes for lock relays, you may need to send the module off to bmwgm5.com for repair.

My bet would be on failed lock actuators. Do lock buttons on top of door panels rise up when you unlock all doors from driver's lock or a fob?
Thanks for the tips I will try tomorrow and let you know but my bet is on the actuators just have a gut instinct also my key does not work for anything wich is an issue I’d like to resolve as well but one thing at a time lol but the lock pole moves up and down but resolved nothing I wanna say it feels like a double lock also the central lock button works strangely such as locks when I hold it or if I button mash it
If your "key doesn't work for anything" , and you're having central locking issues, you need to begin by buying a key at the dealership. Looking at the data on a good BMW diag computer may tell you exactly what's going on.
