E31 MID Repair Advice

Folks,

My 1992 E31 has a Multi Information Display with lots of dead pixels. Is there any preferred vendor for getting these repaired?

How about buying a used-serviceable unit?

Also, my car was originally sold in Switzerland so the MID displays in German. I would prefer it in English. Can I simply swap the control head (MID) and put in an English language version?

There are places on ebay where you can send your MID and they will refurbish it for you. The ones I am seeing are around $100-$125.

That’s what I have found, too. I was just wondering if anyone here had firsthand experience with any particular vendor.

And, can i swap a German version for an English version?
