My fuel pump relays are orange, the two to the right of the white dme relays. But colors vary based on the year, I have a 1993.

I am confused now, realoem showing p# above, but my actual orange fuel relay is p#0332019456 which is 4 pin relay vs 5 pin above... hmmm

The FCPEuro relay is a drop-in replacement for the standard Orange 4-pin relay, the fifth pin is not used

Does anyone know where I can find a color pic of the inside of the E-Box? I've tried searching and got some pretty strange results, but nothing helpful. Yeah, BMW, in their infinite wisdom, has superseded their relays and apparently changed colors, however I need to know what was originally installed as the fuel pump relay. As I said earlier, one fuel pump relay is blue the other pale green, neither of which (seems) to match the relays you guys are talking about. I tried finding it in the ETK, however it doesn't list a description of the relays in most instances as to their use.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I am sure my relays are original, 2 white DME relays and 2 orange FP relays.

Although I have a picture of the E-Box, I've got a V8 and that is completely different - the best I have is from the ETK:

Thanks Timm, but I need the e-box with the EML and DME's in it. Where the FP relays are.
    Thanks again

I need the color of the fp relays. If I saw you're diagram correctly, it's in black & white.
    Thank you though

Use the ETM by built year, there are all the relays shown and their location http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e31/

    Finally!

After (literally) months of being side tracked by other cars, I finally had a chance to concentrate on the 850. There was a broken wire in the Cylinder ID connector for 7-12 which was causing the fuel pump not to come on.

Bottom line - if you have a problem, keep digging - all the way to China if need be. These friggin' cars are worth it!

Thank you to all who helped! Without you guys, this car would have probably lounged around in my shop for another couple of years.

    You guys are the best!
