I’ve seen a couple e38 with what’s look like either e36 or e46 hood vents. Not sure about reposting someone else’s image but I could find it again at show people.
Anyone else done hood vents? What fits well? Not worried about functionality to be truthful just like the style. Any input or advice? I’ve seen a couple different vents online for e36, e39, and e46 not sure which way to go
What you referring to? Two grills on the front of a hood?

Your current situation is not your final destination
I presume this would be on the top. Keep in mind that the stock set up forces air down the sides of the engine, its exhausts and the gearbox. That's what the underfloor panels are for, and are referred to as 'ducting' in the parts manual.
Something like this?
