    Disa valve

My Disa Flap fell off the disa valve. Where did it go? Felt around the intake manifold but cant find it. What could have happen here? What type of engine problem caused this? Also lots of oil in the intake. Wondering if my 09 328xi w/ 170k is worth fixing.

    Welcome to the Forum!

The question more is how much is this car worth to you, and who will be doing the work?

That flap can do serious damage to the intake valve(s), so getting it back out would be a priority, and that may include removal of the intake. There are 2 DISA's, so make sure you check the other one as well.

As for the oil in the intake, very common on any BMW with more that 50k on the clock as this is showing that the CCV is working. However normal is a thin film, while abnormal would be able to pour the oil out of the intake.

    2 DISAs? Gott im Himmel!

Darin, do these DISAs have the metal pin securing the flap?

Not to my knowledge, as I haven't looked that closely at them to notice.

Oh and for future references, they are electrically controlled, not vacuum like the M-52TU/M-54 motors.
