Hello all,
I just recently bought myself a 2009 E70 Diesel. I've been trying to get INPA to work on it, but i continually have an error message.
Now, I am not new to INPA as i have a 1999 E39 540i and i have been diagnosing issues for 5 years. The 540i uses an OBD2 connected to an OBD1 unit. INPA works great.
I bought a new OBD1 unit (K+DCAN green board) without 7-8 bridged together.
I received an error message after:
1) Opening the Program
2) Seeing the Battery is connected
3) Selecting E70
4) Scrolling to "Engine"
5) Selecting the "3.0 L M57/N57 I6" engine types. --> DDR 5.0 for M57 TU --> DDE 6 for M57TOP / M57TU2
6) I receive and error message:
"Requested control unit: 'D60M57D0,D62M57B0' not found.
Control unit found: 'D73N57C0'.
Program will be stopped!
After seeing this i thought i might have an issue with my INPA. I uninstalled and installed a different copy. This still did not solve the issue.
Could it be the new connector i purchased?
Thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Brad
I'm going through the same thing. As far as I can tell the lookup table T_GRTB.prg, which contains the engine variants does not have an entry for E70 with the M57 engine. So when inpa runs the DDE script there is a mismatch between the requested control unit and what is found in the lookup table, producing the error. This is honestly just a guess, but updating to datens did not fix anything for me and all the INPA scripts I have are really old.
I found an INPA/EDIABAS package that had newer INPA .ipo files, including the dde73kwp.ipo and dde73kwp.ini files which reference the D73N57C0.prg file. Will update if this worked.

replacing those two files seems to have done the trick.
Would you mind sharing mate?
Did any one get this to work I am also having issues connecting to my 2009 x5 35d.
Can anyone share these files mentioned?
