OK so I put a Meisterschaft GTS exhaust system on the car (catback) so from the down-pipes all the way back. (sidenote: the stock exhaust system was all one piece, and it's a big so storage in an issue if I ever want to sell the car and replace it)
it sounds amazing on the outside, but inside the cabin I have a moderate edit: Resonance sound between 1600-1800 rpm depending on throttle. that needs to be resolved. I'm thinking about these choices in this order:
1) wrapping the pipes in heat-resistant insulation
2) using rubber bushings on all the mounting bolts, and
3) if I have too, pull out the seats and carpet in the cabin and truck and install sound deadening material.
Anybody have experience with this type of thing? Thanks.

The only way to stop a drone is to add a resonator to the exhaust.
All the stuff you're talking about doing will only fix a vibration, not change the actual sound of the exhaust.

Thank you. After reading this, I questioned myself if it was a drone or resonance, and not for sure what the difference is, I found a youtube video of an exhaust drone.
It is not a constant warbling sound like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG4dG9qTZE0
It is a resonance at certain frequencies; it comes and goes depending on throttle and rpm.
I found out that apparently the OEM exhaust has weights, so I'm going back down there on Friday and they're going to remove the weights and weld them to the new exhaust, which is lighter.
also they already installed rubber bushings #2 on the list.

FYI after we put the car up on a lift we discovered that the exhaust pipes were touching a cross support underneath the car, so we fixed that and it's much improved. We didn't need to put weights on the exhaust system. Problem solved.
Good to hear. Without driving the car myself, it's hard to know if a person is describing a drone, just from sound, or a vibration, or resonance frequency. Thanks for updating the thread with your results.
