By next weekend I hope to have a new to me 2010 e92 328i. Although it's in good shape now, I'd like to be somewhat prepared in advance to do some of the work that will eventually be required on this car. I already have a standard set of metric sockets, wrenches, and whatnot. What is a basic set of tools I should get that are BMW specific? I know a lot of parts on the car use unique types of fasteners, like the Torx bolts with the hole in the middle. Any help would be great.
E-Torx set
Are you gonna eat that?
Definitely inverted torx (E-torx) from E6-E20. Most come E6-E16, but the front strut braces I think are E18 on an E90. And a regular torx set from T10-T60. 60 is used for the belt tensioner.
ASE and BMW Master Certified Technician
Sockets up to 22mm for suspension components, impact gun, torque wrench, battery tender.
