I am trying to install this part with the driveshaft removed and am having a very difficult time. I thought I had it installed then when try tried installing the part of the shifter that slides into in, it popped out. I Then tried installing it with the shifter piece already inserted through it and haven't been able to get it back in. The metal around the bushing already has a very slight deformation from trying to get it installed. Does freezing polyurethane to get it to drink have the same effect as rubber bushings? any other tips?
Is this your daily driver? I would not recommend this for a daily, you will hear every gear loudly. I used a jack and a 2x4 to push it up into place, just make sure the tab and slots line up
You really have to push and pry it in. Some don’t like it because they say it adds nvh. I have poly rear console bushings on
my 99 and 08 M3s and have not noticed that but my cars are modded and have more nvh than stock already.
