Just flushed my BMW key fob down the toilet.

So yeah, that just happened today.

Where's the cheapest way to get a new key? I know dealer replacement is like $200 and I've seen some places online for significantly less.
    How does that work?
Has anyone had success with specific sites?
Saw some places offer 'uncut keys'. What does that mean?

Your best option for keys is always the dealer. Bring proof of ownership, pay the $175, bite the bullet.

I had mine in 48 hours. I paid wholesale cost as my uncle was the parts manager.

Stick the fob in a plastic bag along with some uncooked rice. That’ll dry it out. Oh, disinfect it first!!

Marco- my keys are gone forever. They dropped down one of those turbo flush toilets at my work. The kind that sounds like a jet engine and can swallow a case of golf balls. Direct hit. Gone. Reached down to my elbow. No luck.

Did you end up going to the dealer or making your own key?

Without a special key programmer and software, you can’t make your own key.
