Hi guys I hope you can help I have restraint fault in red on dash & screen. Using INPA under Satellite front door left E60 version 1.040 pulled the following error codes
967D voltage monitoring ASE below lower limit
9665 Pressure sensor self test timeout
Would this be related to the Air Bag Occupancy Sensor Mat
If so can I use a bypass module to enable the clearance of the codes?
Apologies if this has been done to death previously but I could find the 2 x codes that match mine
How old is the battery
The battery is 5 years old I have fully charged it as the car had stood for a while & went flat
Voltage measures 12.4 at rest & running charge is at 13.8 haven’t drop tested though. When clearing fault with INPA it immediately reappears.
Will battery although starting cause sperious faults?
geeze4, A battery at rest is considered dead at 12.0v and fully charged at 12.6v. With engine running, you should be in the 13.8-14.2 range. The charging system is temperature compensated by the IBS, Intelegent Battery Sensor, sensor mounted to the negative battery terminal. With increase in ambient temperature, battery voltage goes down and with decrease in temperature voltage goes up. At temperatures approaching 5-6*C, with a lead acid battery, not a AGM battery, you could expect charging voltage in the 14.8-15.0 range. Remember these cars are heavely loaded with modules, read computers, and need clean steady power. They are energy hogs. My suspicion is battery more than likely or voltage regulator going bad. The voltage regulator is also smart and is on a data bus, bsd bus, with the iBS and ecm.
Secondly, in the US, BMW of North America extended the warranty on the Front passenger seat occupancy mat (OC3) for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS/Air bag system) to 15 years/unlimited miles as determined by vehicle's original in-service date. This is not a notice of a Recall or Service Action. Again this correspondence from BMW is dated June 2018. You may want to contact your BMW dealer/representative there in North Yorkshire, to determine if such a policy existe on the extension of the warranty.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Many thanks for information will go for battery & see what happens.
I will update accordingly.
Thank you for all replies
Appreciated
