    Looking to purchase an e61

Trying to research wether I should purchase an 06 e61 or an 08-10 model. I know the 06 is naturally aspirated and I hear the turbo cars give problems because of the turbo. I found a 08 with 131k all the cars I知 finding are hi mileage. Also found an 06 with 148k. Of course I知 looking for care that we池e well maintained. Looking for feedback and help. Thank you in advance.

Probably the older nonturbo will be cheaper repair for engine work. Auto trans seem to have more problems than the version in the later turbo. Both have sunroof rain and liftgate and flaking headlight wire issues.

Personally I would want only the turbo, but I like performance. Had mine since 2011 and it is coming up on 140k miles. I do all my own work (except once when I had just moved and my shop was in storage). I would not want to pay a shop to maintain an old BMW.

If you're still interested I have a really nice 550i with a 6-speed transmission. I purchased the car because it was in great shape and needed nothing. It's a non-turbo with a 370 HP V8 engine, and is in really excellent condition- I have 4 BMW's , E3, e9, M3 and this e60 550i- it has 140K miles and runs really well. The only thing I replaced were the hood and trunk shocks. I'm preparing to do a full maintenance on it- I work on allot of vintage BMW's but i have a friend who owns an independent shop here in Austin who is very familiar with these cars and I can have him run through it. I'm looking for 7K, I can provide more pictures and complete maintenance records from the day it was born-

I think the OP is looking for an E61. E60 are easy to find. And he is concerned about maintenance and repairs. The V8 has its set of expensive repair issues.

That is ridiculous — $20k for a 100k mile 10 year old car.

Not sure what mileage you池e expecting, but cars that are ~12 years old, on average, are going to have about 150k miles. I have an 07 with 142k.
