Unhappy BMW 2003 Z4 2.5 cluster stuck on S while shifter moves fine

    Hi,
I just bought a 2003 2.5 Z4 with auto transmission. The transmission shows S on the cluster regardless of where is the shifter and the car appears to be in limp mode when I drive it forward but reverse is driving good. I used an OBD2 reader and there was no codes at all.
Any advice how to troubleshoot that,
    Thanks

Did you read the trouble codes in the transmission computer as well as the engine computer?

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
