Hello!
I purchased my f30 about a year ago and it currently has about 68k miles on it. Recently I've noticed an odd ticking noise coming from the left side of the engine. I've isolated the noise and it appears to be coming from the furthest spark plug housing toward the back. I get my oil changed regularly and the Mobile-One 0W-30 European Formula. I've tried using a fuel injector cleaner as well as an oil stabilizer (Lucas Full Synthetic).
The ticking does get more rapid as the RPMs increase. I've also noted that my idle seems to be a bit rougher than when I first purchased the car.
I won't pretend that I possess a large amount of mechanical knowledge and mainly would like a ballpark guess as to what the issue might be so I don't get scammed in the repair shop.
Thank you for taking your time and reading this!
I've attached a short video of the noise, sorry for the voices in the background.

Note: This is my first post so if I've accidentally broken a rule or have posted this in the wrong place let me know and I will fix it ASAP.
You’re completely in the green. The New BMW engines are Direct Injection engines, the injectors are making the tick noise. Since fuel is being injected directly into the cylinder it needs more pressure to inject.
Port injection engines:
This kind of injection deals with pressures around -1.5 to -5.0 pressures which is a vacuum. They have the deal with Negative pressure which it didn’t need nearly as much power to push fuel out of the injectors.
Direct Injection engines:
This kind of injection deals with positive pressures up to 150psi. It needs the backup from the fuel pump to at least pump 4,000psi to 7,000psi. The injector tick is just the mechanical mechanism inside the injector allowing the fuel to be injected under those pressures.
The tick is just the injectors doing their work.
