    Knee panel and glove box

My e30 never had a knee panel or a glove box and I'm getting around to fixing up the interior. the previous owner threw in a knee panel with a bunch of other junk for the car. that one however doesn't fit. I was wondering which ones would fit for a 1986 325 coupe. do these two parts have to be the same year and model? or can I get one from a vert or sedan? or is it just early model coupes that would work? I tried looking for a forum on this, but I didn't spend much time doing so.

I'm not aware of any YouTube or other good pictures of the glove box area trim but it is a bit tricky to get those pieces in the right place in the right order. Take a look at realoem for the pieces and connecting hardware. As I recall, the piece against the HVAC box goes in first. Getting the front connector with the center console into the mounting point is a real pain. Then the top piece goes on to protect the ECU both of which mount behind the dash and screw in. Then the glove box with the front hinge, which if you mount loosely will help align it and then tighten it down.

I've had that area open so many time in order to check the coolant sensors, idle controller and HVAC rebuild I think I could do it with my eyes closed.

okay thanks a lot! i’ve already checked out realoem. there’s a guy local who’s parting out a 88 vert and i was really just trying to figure out if his glovebox and other panels would fit into my 86 coupe. and maybe you should make a video since it’s so easy for you ! i couldn’t find much on it on youtube. broken glove box is very common and that’s what happened to mine and i literally drilled and broke it off. never got back to installing it until now

the glove box is the same. sorry, I meant to write 86 and 89 were the same. I took the glove box from my 86 325 parts car and put it in my other son's 88 325 because it didn't have one. it bolted right in
    No e30s again.
