    e65 logic7 mod

I have a 04 745li with a non working logic 7 amp, could i take the feed from the back speakers or interrupt the feed and run wires to a high low output converter, which could then feed an aftermarket amplifier which could power the rear door speakers and the subs under the seats, this would keep all wiring in the boot and get all speakers working, is there enough information running through the speaker wires to feed an amp and provide some bass ?

    Hi,

You can't do what you've mentioned above, the OEM amplifier isn't working so there's no audio signal at the rear speakers.

Take a look at the mObridge range of products. They do a unit that replaces the OEM amplifier, connects seamlessly and negates the need for any Hi/Lo output converters. You'd then connect a suitable aftermarket amplifier to drive the speakers and subs - upgraded ones ideally as the resulting sound quality will be significantly improved.

I meant the rear parcel shelf speakers that are working, but does the ask unit put out a signal so that an amp can add base to the subs under the seat and sound to the rear door speakers ?

    Hi Steve,

You'll need to research more as to what the OEM amplifier does with it's outputs, I suspect each speaker has a channel and is frequency crossed over so the right frequencies go to the correct driver. It sounds as though your amplifier is failing so the 'low' and 'sub' outputs might be dead already and the rear channels might cease to work 'soon'. Check in the E65 section of this and other BMW forums and hopefully someone can confirm. If so, then you'll not be able to do what you are thinking and the option like the mObridge is what you'll need.

    Cheers, Dennis!
