06 325i - Crazy Idle while driving! Please help!

2006 325i... while driving at say, 65mph the idle/rpms will surge then drop and almost immediately go back to normal. it started happening occasionally and now its almost every few minutes.
When stopping at a stop light the idle will surge and drop and often shut the vehicle off but restarts no problem. This is happening with NO error codes or check engine lights.
I did pull the VANOS out and clean them... didnt help. any help would be much appreciated!

Sounds like your eccentric shaft sensor - had the same problem happen to me.

Do you hear a little mechanical whirring sound as the revs return to normal?

Check for faults and check the valvtronic sensor plug for oil in it

So, I am attaching a few vids. I replaced the CAM Shaft sensors, cleaned the VANOS and now its still acting crazy. The car feels like its dying then fires back up all in about 2 seconds and it does this repeatedly... You will see the check engine light on but then it goes right back off and back on ... etc. the car eventually dies when/if I come to a stop and have to wait 15 mins to restart. the original codes were p0012 and p1554. I am at a loss as to what to do next.

If your at a loss take it to a good bmw independent shop and have them dx
