    What is this connector for?

Soo... I was working on my audio wiring in the front of my BMW E36. And when i removed the plastic cover under the glove box, i found this connector
    Connector1.jpgConnector2.jpgConnector3.jpg

It's a rather large connector, it has a RED/WHITE Wire going into one side, and a BROWN wire going into the other.
It has 2 metal segmented rod's sticking out of it, labeled + and - on the plastic next to them. Any idea what it's for?

Could it be from the old factory alarm system? Or something else.

    Thank you.
