    2002 325i Head Unit Swap

I have a 2002 BMW 325i and I want to be able to use an aux cord to listen to my music, my issue is (as you may know) to add an aux cord with the BMW kit, you need a model made after Sep 9th (I think), 2002. Instead of going through the trunk, could I just swap in a later model Business CD head unit without any wiring changes besides adding that aux connector?

You can but you’ll need to install a cable that combines the AM radio signals and the FM radio signals into a single cable. Also, I think the AM/FM antenna amp in the drivers “C” pillar needs to be changed to the later part. The amp in your car is labeled “325mhz” whole the newer one is labeled “425mhz.”

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
