I'm selling my 2001 E38 740il with a ton of extra parts from a parts car I stripped

It has high miles, but they are highway miles. 230K It runs very smoothly, the engine is powerful and there are no codes or error lights. The interior is clean and the upholstery and wood are all good.

Grey exterior, grey leather interior. 3rd gen nav computer with the large screen. No dents or damage. Some rust on driver's door and (minor) paint bubbling low on trunklid (I'm including a replacement trunklid that is perfect) All windows and door locks/handles work. Everything works except the following:

Cupholder recently fell apart

It has an oil leak from the rear main seal. 1qt per 4000-5000 miles

I recently ran over a traffic cone which broke my power steering pump and the passenger fender well (plastic wheel well). I replaced the pump, but it is leaking power steering fluid from the lines, so they'll have to be replaced. I'm including a replacement fender liner. The outside temperature probe was knocked off and will need to be re-mounted.

I have an Audiovox Bluetooth adapter and DSP adapter (phone/music) that is wired into the car in place of the CD changer (easily reversible). It recently went dead (no power) so I think the inline fuse in the trunk may have blown, or one of the power wires has come loose.

Repairs I performed when I got the car 15,000 miles ago (2.5 years)
Brake pads, rotors, sensors, etc
Rear springs & shocks
Front sway bar links & tie-rod ends
Transmission serviced and new fluid & filter
Electronic thermostat replaced
Cooling system overflow bottle replaced
Replaced dented fender and damaged bumper cover (previous owner)
Instrument cluster dot-matrix panel was repaired and trim rings fitted
New tires

The car has MPAR 18" staggered rims with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires on it with about 7500 miles on them
Front tires: 235/50R18
Rear tires: 255/45R18

Also included are the original type 70 17" boxed rims with TPMS sensors (including the spare) with the same model of tire also with only 7500 miles on them

Comes with many parts from a parts car that I took apart: hood, trunk lid, rear doors, door windows, fender, interior door skins, ski pass through, heated steering wheel, engine parts, etc. Also includes a Proclip phone mounting base for this car.

I'm asking $2500 for the car, tires, extras, etc. Alternately $2000 without the MPARs.


Why am I selling it? I've gone over to the dark side and purchased a Mercedes CLS-550
