So I own an 1995 E34 525tds.
I want to install cruise control so I bought the stalk, its the only thing needed since the car has preparation for cruise control.
Unfortunately previous owner has cut the wires from the stalk,so I need to wire them up again.
I bought the jack with two wires from another car,but the cruise control stalk has 5 wires and its from TDS too...
Can someone tell me which wire goes where?
I cant find any scheme on google...

here is the EBA: Electronic Cruise Control BMW 5 Series E34, 525 tds https://bmweba.com/eba-01-29-9-786-939/amp/
unfortunately no wiring diagrams, tds are rare on this forum.

Perhaps this will help. Wire colors are different here but your switch looks same. Note two wires connect to # 1

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
ross1,thats wiring for petrol stalk,I need it for diesel one, they are diffrent.Thank you anyway...
Try this. It is the manual for a 1994 but covers the TDS. Cruise control wiring is page 6571.0.00

Already tried that, but still cant find which wire goes where...
Looks like the same switch to me

OK. Have done a little digging. If you have the Tempomat electronic cruise control, you appear to only get two wires coming from the switch to the plug (yellow and blue). Realoem suggests that the switch you need is part 61311390964 or 61318350703 if the car has an air bag. If you haven't got either of those, it probably is not going to work. No idea how you can get four signals out of just two wires but this is what it looks like:

I guess other wires are connected to these two, thats what Im looking for..

Here you can see that they are wired down to 2 pins only.
Im looking for how they are wired under this black isolation...
Bump
Bump again...
did you ever find out how they are wired?
Anyone knows which E34s are ready to install a cruise control or how can be done if not ready?
Hi,
Did you ever figure the wiring out for your cruise control addition? I am looking to buy a '95 525 tds imported to the U.S. and I want to add cruise control on it.
You mentioned in your post that "the car has preparation for cruise control." Did you mean that the E34 tds models are all "pre-wired" for cruise and that's why you only bought the stalk, or was your car an originally cruise control equipped model and you are replacing a defective stalk?
Any info you or anyone else can provide on doing this would be great!

The parts catalog lists the stalk, clutch switch, and a cable bracket (possibly in error), suggesting that cruise was an option and depended on the engine ECU. No separate harness is listed (like it is for US E34), suggesting that the car is indeed pre-wired. That leaves the question of whether the ECU is pre-wired; I don't know, but my WAG is yes. If it isn't, you'll need to source one that is, or look into whether cruise can be activated on the existing one. Failing that, I can think of a way to make a US E34 system work, but the correct ECU would be a much cleaner solution.
Shogun, the EBA for E34 retrofit on that site is for the E32, and doesn't include the td/tds models. The only td/tds Tempomat EBA is for the E36, which (at least for M50 models) have the same engine ECU. The E36 instructions reference a supplemental wiring harness, but make no mention of ECU modifications, suggesting the E34 won't need any either.

In my link above the EBA text mentions it is for E34, check again : installation instructions for electronic cruise control BMW 5 series E34

Yes, it mentions the E34, but not the TDS models. Those had no accelerator lever or cable, so the regular E34 system - which doesn't talk to the ECU and is agnostic about what engine is attached to the other end of its actuation cable - won't work (unless you rig the cable directly to the pedal, I suppose). It appears that the TDS Tempomat also didn't use the regular control module.
