1999 318i auto...transmission issues

I’ve just picked up a auto 318i that’s been sitting around for some time unused.After firing her up and taking her for a drive, the transmission changes harshly through the gears....I mean it REALLY boots into gear and back down again when slowing down....other than that it’s good to drive...Any ideas what I should be looking for?

Scan the transmission computer for codes. Check the state and level of your transmission oil and replace the oil and filter if needed
