Looking for advice. Rear ended about 6 months ago. Had to get new battery and red battery cable because car would not start. After, everything worked fine except the leg extension on the seat would not lock back, it would only fully extend. the collision company sent the work out to a company down the road to fix. After I got the car back I noticed a parking light malfunction and a cruise control malfunction. Funny thing is the parking light is fine and cruise control works perfectly, but head unit is stuck on "Aux out" and bluetooth stuck on loading symbol (the Gear symbol). I cannot get it to change. I can use bluetooth for phone but not for streaming audio. Also, Navigation is stuck on loading and will not load for use. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Dealership says I need a new head Unit.
The navigation system and head unit uses a hard disk drive. A big shock can damage it.

I was wondering if maybe the guy that fixed the seat detached the battery and after he re-attached it did not register the battery afterwards? Could a proper register possibly fix this issue? I think I might take it to someone to look at it. Any recommendations in the Tampa area?
Registering the battery simply tells the car the battery age, so it can apply different charging characteristics to it. It's super important for battery life, but it will not affect anything else.
I would start with a proper diagnostic scan with the BMW software, ISTA. It will offer a better view as to what is going on.
Be very careful with used replacement parts for this area, because of the involvement of programming of FSC enabling codes, etc.

If you used the shop that your/their insurance company recommended for the repair, they are still responsible for any problems. Call and let them know.

I meant both the shop and the insurance company, who guarantees the work.
