I've got a 1985 E30 (325E) that has a problem that is driving me nuts. The car starts fine, as soon as it reaches a temperature where warm air will come from the vents it misses badly. It feels like it's starved for fuel. After a minute or so, the engine suddenly fires on all six cylinders and continues to operate normally. She's got close to 200,000 miles on her and is in great condition otherwise.
I don't know if this is a sensor issue, vacuum related or what. I would appreciate any advice on how to start looking for a solution.
Thank you

I would say check your temp sensors and your o2 sensor
No e30s again.
What he said, and then also the oxygen sensor heater circuit/relay. It sounds like the engine starts in open loop fine, but then when the dme goes into closed loop and starts reading the 02 sensor, it hasn’t heated up yet at that time, which is the job of the heater circuit. If that is the case, then yours may start to smooth out once the o2 sensor finally warms up on its own with the exhaust temps?
Try unplugging the o2 sensor, as running it that way will keep it in open loop and verify that it is o2 sensor related and not something completely different. The condition should disappear with the sensor unplugged if that is it. The temp sensors do affect open/closed loop ops so check/replace them as well

Get a multi meter and check all the temp sensors. Always best to check the sensors at the ECU, a bit of a pain, but verifies the wiring. Also, check the throttle position switch while you're there.
