Purchased my first car, couldn't be happier.

I think I hit the jack pot on this one,
I bought a 1997 528iA about a month ago for $2,500 just after my 18th birthday. 170k miles and ONE owner since '97 & all the service paperwork from the last decade, down to every oil change.
They had the auto trans rebuilt at 140k so it's still got some life.
No accidents except a midsize crack in the front bumper from a speed bump that was just going a little to fast...
Naturally being a 18yo with a 'new' first car i'm grinding away at my part time to buy her little gifts (real girlfriend isn't to happy that my car gets more gifts then her)...
    Some things I've done,
Vinyl wrap with 3M 1080 matte black over the wood trim I thought looked a little dated.
Got a new front emblem because the original was gone.
Chrome gauge rings in the cluster.
Depo Clear side marker lights w/ the chrome bulbs that magically shine amber.
Other then those nearly every part is stock.
I have a whole list of things I want to do but the thing its way to cold currently to even try and work on the car, guess I gotta wait till summer.
Side note about the cool thing I found out the other day, if you press the accelerator all the way down and the just a little more, you press the 'kickback' switch and enter mach 10 speed mode. I uh found that out in the manual... yeah...
Anyway I just wanted to share my excitement about my ride with some fellow owners.

Edit: I just realized the Hangouts forum is probably not the correct place for this post, I cant figure out how to change it though.

Congratulations. I found German cars in my early 20's with a silver Porsche 944 I kept that thing all the way through college and into married life. I had some great memories in that car and over 400k miles when i sold it. I hope you have exactly the same experience. I'm restoring a 944 turbo at the moment. It's taking longer than i hoped so i picked up a cheap 528i manual to keep me from driving the shop truck. It's making me fall in love with BMW all over again.
