    E39 520iA (M54B22) swap to 530i (M54B30) with supercharger

    Hi guys!

    I have searched the great interwebs for as much info as possible, but I come up short on good, solid information and advice. So I am reaching out to the masses of bimmerforums for some assistance and further advice.

    I have a pretty specced out 2002 E39 520iA with full M-sport etcetc, done all the mods on my list and its pretty damn good to be honest.
    I also have the ESS supercharger on it, but my plan was always to swap in a M54B30 and move the supercharger over.

    The reason I want to do this is I love the M54B30 and the feel of the 530, but I dont want the manual from the M5 and the great lump in the front.
    My last E39 was a 2002 M5 with the VT550 ESS kit, and its lovely with all that power, but with the stick you just end up going sideways all the time for the shits and giggles.

    An everyday, reliable and nice looking E39 is what im going for, since I absolutely love the E39 in and out. My first car ever was a 2001 E39 530iA, and I have been in love ever since, and have been through a couple of E39s.

    So, back to the subject:

    Today I got the M54B30 engine with 136 000 km on it (I live in Norway, we use real units here ), and Im going to change some parts, gaskets, upgrade the injectors and bolt on the supercharger before I put it back in.
    But I want to take it further than the 360hp that ESS claims it does (290rwhp), and therefore I wonder:

    What mods needs to be/should be done to the differential? I ofcourse want an LSD, I have contacted Quaife, and looked into the M5 LSD, but too much work and money for not that much.
    What mods needs to be done to the gearbox for it to withstand more hp? As I understand it its just at the limit with only the supercharger and 290rwhp? Internals/any other gearboxes that will fit without too much hazzle?

    The car was stripped down and fully painted in Estorilblau in 2016, sits on SuperSport black evolution coilovers, Michelin tires round baut, sprayed with FluidFilm (a lot of salt on Norwegian roads), M5 instrument cluster, M5 mirrors with power fold, M5 interior, Dynavin headunit, alcantara steering wheel with matching handbrake lever and gearknob +++ happy to do the complete list if any interest in it.
