I heard it was an "upgrade" with thicker rubber.

Yes, it fits, and it is an upgrade.
It is noticeably beefier.
I have one on my 735 and 528e.

Order one and let us know.
I make E23 parts.

Ford, MB, and GM round out the pack.
I like to ask before. I looked at a spare e23 one I had and the rubber looks iffy even though it is unused.

The previous owner of one of my e23's ripped the rubber out of a new OE mount in a few hundred miles (turbo, stick car) so this is good to know.

I have an E23 version Lemforder replacement. The rubber looks thin and flexes too easy for my liking. I'm sure the alternative brands aren't going to be any better.
