Maybe I missed something, have you defermined the FP doesn't run?
HF has a gauge with a lot of different fittings, think it's $20.

im sorry, i dunno why this thought got away from me here...hit the car with some starting fluid. if it tries to catch, its most likely a fuel problem. i shoulda thought of that right offa the bat here. "slaps self in the forehead...this aint a naturally receding hairline"

the hf gauge does have the fitting for a schrader valve. if getting it, make sure ya use teflon tape on the threads, elstwise itll leak.

    STOP IT! Don't jinx me!

Yes, I'm positive it's original (160,000-ish miles) as the perforations in the insulation over the access hole had not been cut until I got into it a couple months ago for the level sender repair (broken wires off the rheostat).

no Jim, the question of whether the fp is running or not as of yet has not been determined.

Going out to check now. I was just asking for recommendations just in case. My car has 175k on it. I'll let you know if anyone has been into the fuel tank yet!
I picked the car up last year. It's in great shape, I think the. Vanos have already been done. I have absolutely no rattle. The 2 things I have done are the CCV delete catch can replacement and rebuilt the DISA valve with new seal and aluminium internals.
    Stay tuned.

Ok the plot thickens....first off I had that HF fuel pressure kit already and I found all the fittings. I set may gauge up and went out to test and the results are.....
I have about 46 PSI with priming the pump and 50 PSI while cranking. It appears as if the pump is ok. Here is the strange thing. When I opened the hood I saw what looked like mouse bedding on the intake manifold right in the middle section. The section where there is a wire plug that goes to the injectors?. It was leaves and small twigs. Io have never anything get stuck in that spot before and the adjacent sections had no material. I also found more of this material down under the back side of the drivers headlight. If this little guy chewed a wire I can see that causing a the no start logically but what wire would that be?

Arrgg! I'm not 100% certain just going on what I see.

Also the sound deadening under the back seat has not been disturbed on either side.

Here is the material under the drivers headlight:

And the other bedding was here:
If it is a mouse it could travel all over the engine bay so finding a chewed wire would be difficult.

This is the last for tonight...I did a visual inspection of the engine bay wiring and all looks well that I can see anyway so maybe the mouse/rat idea is a little far fetched.
What could cause a no start when there is proper fuel pressure and an engine that is turning over? No spark? What should i check next?

    Thanks!

As said before the DME may not be released by the EWS (no spark or injector pulse). You need INPA to check that.
Or, unbolt a coil and stick a spark plug in it to see if you have spark.
And pop the cover off the injector rail wiring and see if you have injector pulse with a test light or multimeter.

The cable is E-Bay (usually comes with a software disc) - cheap is fine.
Otherwise google Mike’s Easy Tools - extremely easy installation.

Rosie, Chedley, Matt, thanks for the great info. I appreciate it! Learning more about this car all the time. Chedley, thanks for your download link. I may take you up on your generous offer to lend the "tools!" I just purchased a cable (K+DCAN with switch) on Ebay following you link, Rosie.

Thanks JimLev, Geargrinder and Dennis too! I'll still need help....

So I ran another scan last night and found this DTC message in the EWS section:

    First screen

    Second screen

Does this mean the EWS module was reset?

power on reset, i believe, is from the battery going dead, possibly with the key being left in pos2. *researching*

Thanks Matt. I borrowed the cable from Chedley, to the rescue! Nice guy! I've had a chance to download INPA and here are a few screen captures:

Same error I showed up higher with the Creator 110+ reader

I know my battery is low again. I,m charging right now.

ok, your first pic shows the EWS recognises the key, but we already know that cuz it will turn over, and the DME is energizing the fp, cuz you have fuel pressure. in the 3rd frame, the line "EWS-Code unplausible" makes me think that the DME-EWS alignment is off (hoping GG will see this post and jump in with his depth of knowledge here) and that the DME is not allowing spark/injector function. checking for either spark (pull a plug, hook it up, ground it and see if theres spark) or injector firing (backprobing the connector). one thing might try is to disconnect the battery negative cable, turn the key to position 2 for 20 secs or so, key off, reconnect battery, and re-try. dont think this will reset the rolling code table, but its worth a try. still looking.
i think an alien craft must be flying around here somewhere, theres strange small pebbles of ice falling from the sky. those phanoramisis drives wreak havoc with the weather.
    still researching
    the error, not the spacecraft.

let the car go to sleep before disconnecting battery. open trunk, wait for trunk lite to go out, its then asnooze.
