E36: Side vs Base seat mounts

I'm looking at getting a Sparco Sprint seat and I'm wondering what are the benefits of the side mounts VS the full base. It seems that sliders can be attached to either. I will be sticking with sparco mounts as well. So my questions are; Is one more stable/ reliable than the other? Which one mounts lower? (I am about 6'1) What mount and slider do you use? What would you recommend?

    Thanks for any input

Side mounts sit lower. The seat could effectively rest flat on the floor of the car. It’s not really necessary in an E36 though, unless you’re like 7ft tall, you wouldn’t be able to see over the dash.

Prefer side mounts always, especially with fixed back bucket seats so you can lean them back a bit to help with comfort.
