Hi I'm trying to swap a Zf transmission into my 1993 325is, I'v read some posts on how to do it and what I need for it but I'm still a little unclear.
From my understanding what I need is a ZF trans, the front half of a driveshaft from an m3 or 328, and a shifter linkage. What else do I need? will my clutch from my getrag still fit the ZF?
It would be very helpful if someone can put together list of parts I need to make the process easier, I would love to gather all the parts at once so it can just be a bolt on job.
Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
zf tranny
front half of 328/M3 driveshaft (best to just get a good whole one) might as well replace the CSB while your at it.
good guibo and bolts
shifter linkage
ZF specific cross member
everything else works.
If you need anything just ask. I have it all but the driveshaft.
Just to add, I didnt need to change shifter linkages. The actual carrier arm is the same length, the shifter arm itself is shorter on getrag, but will only make the throw longer when used with a zf. You just have to bend the selector rod (the rod from the shifter tothe transmission) ever so slightly so it clears the larger guibo the zf uses. The zf selector rod is the exact same length as the getrag one, they just bend it themselves. I held 2 next to each other to see for myself.
Nobody would recertify these machines after somebody screwed with them without any visibility into what they did.
